The twin hill stations of Khandala and Lonavala are just 16 km from the fresh mini town. Exploring Kamshet, the place has Vadivale Lake at an altitude of 2200 ft. One of the larger lakes in the area, created artificially by the backwaters of the Uksan Dam. Dotted with ancient cave temples of the Buddhist monks and medieval hill fortresses, Kamshet is a perfect place if you are looking forward to a weekend getaway. Karla caves, Bedsa caves, Bhaja caves, Wadeshwar temple, Kondeshwar temple, Sangameshwar temple are notably visited.

What is paragliding?

Bhedsa Caves

Kamshet is home to a group of Buddhist rock-cut structures and they can be traced back to the 1st century BCE. The Satavahana period monument is just 9 km from Bhaja caves and few other caves are nearby. The outstanding designed caves with rugged terrains offer a splendid view from above. To understand the depth of a place, first, explore and then view the outline for a clear picture. 

Bhairi Caves

These caves offer the paragliders the right vantage point to take off amidst the valley. How is it to fly in the sky, the wind hitting your face and feasting your eyes with centuries-old brilliantly carved caves sided with dense vegetation? The mesmerizing experience that would be!

Pawna Lake

One can see how tranquil and crystal clear the water of the Pawna lake is from above! Amidst well-aligned, tall mountains, Pawna Lake is an artificial lake brought into existence by the Pawna dam. One of the most beautiful treks, the Pawna lake trek is itself an achievement any trekker would feel! Located in the Western Ghats, the lake would stun you if you are catching a glimpse from above!

Bhandara Dongar

The paragliding take-off point is considered a challenge but not difficult. Bhandara Dongar in Kamshet attracts paragliders for its serene enviro and a perfect place to begin your paragliding adventure. One has to trek a bit into the thick woods to reach the point. So that’s one another way to introduce yourself to the nature of Kamshet.

Shinde Wadi Hills

This is a famous take-off point that has the right combination of everything that is required for flying. Being a safe point to learn some tricks and flying techniques, Shinde Wadi hills gives you a relaxed ride and a lot of time to fly high!
