Education is the key to living life successfully. An educated child gives birth to an educated society. A mother who is educated gives birth to an educated world. A family that is educated gives birth to an educated ambience. Education thus is the backbone of a happy society.
When this is lacking, then it is a cause of concern for all and when it comes to the eyes of people like us who wish to serve the world, it gives rise to the concept of looking for education NGO based setups. This is how the concept of finding institutions and centres for education through NGOs came up.
This mission of spreading education through NGOs is not a new concept but the fact that we are trying to make it a way of life for the children makes all the difference. This mission enables us to commit ourselves to a basic level of education and academic based activities and structures that pave the path for a strong future.
We at Project Colors help children, especially the underprivileged ones, to get the basic education that would give them reasons to smile, reasons to feel important and reasons to dream. We form that corridor of education that leads them to the end of the success tunnel.
Education is the spine of a strong social structure. It lays the foundation for a better financial base and gives an individual the power to be aware of one’s strengths. Children learn about their country, the history, the geography, the past and the present and also get an idea about what could make or break them.
Education gives an individual the capacity to be aware of a wide range of issues whether it is healthcare or the socio economic base or the political angle. An individual is more in sync with understanding one’s rights and excels in being a perfect citizen.
The Education NGO angle begins with providing education from the age of three years. This is called preschool education. Then it evolves to the non formal education which is between the ages of six to fourteen where children do not go to school instead are taught what is right and what is wrong. Then we go to the remedial kind of education which is between the ages of six to fourteen again where children attend school. Then there is the next level which is for the children between the ages of fourteen to eighteen where children learn to appear for Public Examinations.
When education is provided for the underprivileged children then one has to consider that they come from difficult backgrounds and may have been victims of child labor and may come from very poor parents. These factors form the base for training these children.
At times these children also are cases of being runaway children or children with some disability or sometimes afflicted with some kind of disease. All these factors together make up reasons why the children need attention and why NGOs prove to be their saviours.
In this way our small steps would make big differences and Project Colors aims to achieve this in its own small way.
